We jumped around and got our energy out. We did Bee breathing (buuuuzzzz) and a bunch of garden themed yoga poses. We did a garden yoga pose game and a relaxation in our new yoga garden we made during the class. Then at the very end, we launched sunflowers up in the air! Enjoy! UPDATE on my online yoga classes:

I have started a group dedicated to {ONLINE + FREE} Aromatherapy Yoga classes. I will be doing 2 classes a month…one kid’s themed class like for example October’s class will be a “Pumpkin Spiced” class where we will use mini-pumpkins to balance and Fall essential oils in the diffuser/spray of Cinnamon Bark, Citrus Bliss, Clove, and Cardamom.

I will also do a mama/papa yoga class for a quick/energizing workout even if the middle of a busy schedule. We will use energizing and balancing oils to make the day a little easier. I can’t wait for you to try these classes and see how amazing the combo of essential oils and yoga can be for you and your whole family!

How it all started for me…

My journey with essential oils + yoga started long ago back in Saint Paul when I was in college for Public Relations and Health Education. I had always been an anxious personality and the combo of Lavender oil from the local health food store + yoga was enough to keep my anxious personality in check.

Fast-forward to 2009, in North Carolina when my sweet yoga teacher friend shared with me the glorious Citrus Bliss blend and it was all over! doTERRA oils have changed the way I look at essential oils and I have grown to appreciate their commitment to quality and purity more & more through the last 8 years of using them! Fast-forward again to 2013, when I decided to take start sharing the oils with my family & friends because I saw the positive emotional & physical health benefits just like the ones I found in my yoga practice.

I was also able to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training when we lived in Hawaii in 2013. I immediately began teaching a mama and babe yoga class and a power yoga adult class that I incorporated essential oils into at the beginning & end of class. I have continued taking yoga courses for baby and kid’s yoga through Holy Yoga + OmSchooled because having 4 little ones…we need a lot of yoga and a lot of oils over here!

Aromatherapist in training: 

I am also completing my Aromatherapy Certification through Aromahead. It has taken me quite some time to get through all of the material…Anatomy & Physiology isn’t my expertise but I am trying! Just have some case studies to complete and a research paper…hoping to complete it by the end of 2017! Wish me luck!

doTERRA utilizes a Global Botanical Network of artisans from over 45 different countries to grow the materials used for producing our oils.

This network ensures that small-scale farmers & harvesters in disadvantaged and sometimes impoverished areas are treated ethically as well as paid fairly (watch the Co-Impact Sourcing video here).

So with that THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE is that all of our oils are sourced indigenously meaning from where the plant has grown for HUNDREDS of years! Now, you can grow Lavender in Minnesota and say it’s 100% organic and pesticide-free which is wonderful.

But doTERRA essential oils are considered BEYOND ORGANIC because they are distilled from their natural habitat which means the many powerful organic compounds found in oils that make them medicinal are the most potent and pure.

It’s not just purity you want to focus on it’s potency as well. For example, Lavender helps us sleep, calms our minds, and it’s because of it’s high esters content which is a natural sedative found in nature. (Esters are an organic compound found in many oils, Lavender is one).

Lavender grows in a Mediterranean climate, so the esters are very high. Again, you could grow Lavender here in Minnesota, but because the soil and climate are completely different the organic compounds that make the oil so effective will be very low thus make it lack potency. 

Also important to note, 84% of doTERRA’s essential oils are exclusive to us! This means 84% of our growers will only distill for us! This means we get the same HIGH quality and result from any given oil time and time again. Cheaper oils do not get their peppermint (for example) from the same grower every time – they find the cheapest price each time. This makes it so the quality varies in their different oil batches.

sidenote:: I will also mention to be careful when purchasing on Amazon.com… Don’t get me wrong I love Amazon prime and all of the convenience. But purchasing oils on there just isn’t safe because people are selling them WAY below the wholesale cost and so you have to wonder since it’s not regulated what they’re mixing them with because you can easily replace the safety seal for cheap to make it appear like they haven’t opened the bottle and replaced it with potentially harmful fillers. Better safe than sorry to purchase directly from doTERRA where they guarantee what you are buying!
